Since there are two different Datto clients available, Datto Windows Agent (DWA) and ShadowSnap, there are two different procedures to do this update.

Datto Windows Agent

To update the client there’s no need to uninstall it beforehand, but after the install you do have to schedule a server reboot.

1. Download the latest installer from https://www.datto.com/downloads/DattoWindowsAgent.exe.
2. Run the installation with administrator privileges.
3. Reboot the server after completing.

ShadowSnap

To update the client there’s no need to uninstall the old version beforehand, and you do not need to reboot the server after the install.

1. Download the latest version from the link: https://www.datto.com/shadowsnap. 
2. Run the installation with administrator privileges.
3. After the installation is complete, open Windows Services and restart the following:
   - ShadowProtect Service
   - Storagecraft Raw Agent
   - Storagecraft Shadow Copy Provider

After the client has been updated, confirm the client versions over the Datto web portal, on the home page, scroll down to the Local Agent Information section, and on the Agent Version column confirm versions. Latest version for Datto Windows Agent is 2.2.0 and for ShadowSnap is 4.0.0.
